Human Verification & Bot Infrastructure
European human verification and bot protection is a small but privacy-conscious niche, driven by GDPR friction with Google reCAPTCHA — French CNIL has ruled that reCAPTCHA collects excessive personal data beyond security purposes. European alternatives include Friendly Captcha (Germany) with EU data residency guarantees, Trustcaptcha (Germany) using cryptographic proof instead of behavioral tracking, and the open-source ALTCHA which can be fully self-hosted. Most European sites still default to Cloudflare Turnstile or reCAPTCHA, but regulatory pressure is steadily pushing adoption toward EU-native solutions.
